The one rule behind all the others
Only put a video on Blue Flame Media if you made it, own it, or have permission from the person who does. Everything below follows from that.
Importing from YouTube, Vimeo and other platforms
Blue Flame Media can bring a video in from a link. That tool is there for your own content: films you uploaded, client work you were paid for, or material you have written permission to reuse. Pulling somebody else's video off YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, Facebook or anywhere else without permission breaks that platform's own terms as well as ours, and it is your responsibility. Each time you press the import button you confirm you have the right to use that video.
How platform imports actually work here
YouTube does not release the underlying file, so a YouTube link is filed in your library and plays through YouTube's own player - we never copy or re-host the file. A Vimeo link copies the real file onto your hosting only when your own Vimeo account is connected and that video allows downloads. Direct file links are downloaded onto the hosting your account uses.
Content that is never allowed
Anything unlawful; sexual content involving minors in any form; content that incites violence or hatred; material that harasses, doxxes or impersonates a real person; malware; and content you have been ordered by a court or platform to take down.
Fair use of the service
Do not attempt to reach other members' libraries, probe or overload the service, resell raw bandwidth, or use an imported library purely as a piracy mirror. Automated use through the API must stay within your plan and use your own key.
What happens if this is broken
We remove the offending video and tell you why. Repeated or serious breaches suspend the account. Where the law requires it we keep a record and, in the worst cases, pass details to the relevant authority.
Reporting something
If a video on Blue Flame Media infringes your rights or breaks this policy, tell us through the contact page and include the video's address. Copyright complaints have their own route on the copyright page.
